We're working on some projects in the UK that will require better site accessabilty for the visually impaired.

I've read ukgimp's interesting post "moving toward an accessable site [webmasterworld.com]" which provided some useful information.

Are there any other resources, laws and guidance available, particularly to comply with potential UK/European legislation?

How are you developing sites to comply with the guidance?

Hi engine,

I always run my site through Bobby to see how it fares. Unfortunately, a lot of the time many of the errors that it throws back are impossible for me to correct (for design and development reasons).

I do this off my own back, it is very rarely that a client ask us to make a site accessible. On one project, the design that they went with was so closed off to being made accessible that I created a text-only mirror of the site, for accessibility reasons.

I must admit to the 'home assesment' method myself. I hope someone gives you a clearer answer engine as I'd also like to know.

For the most part I run everything though lynx to get an idea of how accessible it is to text/speech readers and just pay attention to (some) what bobby says.
