Do anyone of you try the service of iexpresshost

It seems very good and cheap.

The host package I want is:

- more than 300 mb web space
- more than 15gb bandwidth
- unlimited sub-domain
- support frontpage extention
- support PHP, CGI, mySQL
- support multiple domains (more than 1 domain)
- less than US$10/month

Any recommendations?

Thanks in advanced!

they are based in singapore and the servers are based @ NAC, I bet strongly that they are overselling, NAC bandwidth isn't the cheapest!
WHT have a thread [webhostingtalk.com] on them :)

Unless you are targeting customers in Singapore (or you are based there yourself), I would avoid using a host there.

I will sticky mail you the name of the host I use, as they do a package which would seem to suit you, and I am very happy with them.

Thanks all of you.

I am still reading the thread posted by leoo24. There are some clients of this company saying they are satisfied for the service.

And universalis, why saying "unless you are targeting customers in Singapore (or you are based there yourself), I would avoid using a host there"?

I live in Hong Kong. But does the web hosting quality relates to geographical distance?

The site recommendated by universalis, it seems quite good, I will consider for it. But how long have you used the service of this company?

Good morning :D You will notice on WebmasterWorld there are not reviews of hosting companies for the most part because it requires posting urls and details about a company.

15 gigs of bandwidth isnt enough for 2 days of bandwidth for me, wouldnt even start to cut the cheeze.

I have finished reading that thread, it is better not to purchase the service there.

By the way, what do you think if you need to pay US$3.85 for a sub-domain/yr, is it expensive?

The reason I ask because actually I am satisfied with my existing web hosting company. But it doesn't include sub-domain in the package. I need to pay for it for any additional sub-domain. So, that's why I would like to surf around for the suitable company.

I at least will use 4 sub-domains at the moment, and most likely will increase the number in the future. So, I don't know if I should keep the existing web hosting service or not.

Please advise.

Thanks.

subdomains should be free.

But my web hosting company does not provide this service free of charge.

I have noticed that there are many companies free this service to the clients, so that's why I don't want to let my company to earn it. :(

It is more to do with Google and other search engines. As you live in (and, I suppose are targeting) South-East Asia, it makes sense to host your site there. Google tries to identify which country your site is in, with a combination of domain name and server location. I assume you would want to be listed as local to Hong Kong in [google.com.hk...] when someone selects "Search Hong Kong sites only". For this, you should either be hosted in Hong Kong, even if you have a .com domain name, or you can be hosted elsewhere but with a .hk or .cn domain name.

There is also an argument for proximity in that if your server is in the US, all connections to your customers (in Hong Kong) have to cross the Pacific twice. In this case, Singapore may well be a better bet than my suggestion, as they are based on the East Coast USA about 10,000km from you.

Nothing's free in this business! The price is only part of the equation - uptime, customer satisfaction, good technical support and fast servers are all more important. It depends on your level of satisfaction for your existing hosting service. If they are good, it could be worth the extra cash for the subdomain and sticking with what you know, rather than taking a risk and changing companies. Of course, only you can be the judge of this.

Yes, you are right. Actually I am in two dilema when starting this thread.

I have switched to three web hosts and finally found this one. The response is ok, prompt and helpful. The price of the web hosting is acceptable and the speed is good also.

So, I may not switch again and let this company earn my little cash then.

Thanks for your help. :)
