I'm from the US. I recently got my first gig outside of the states. The client would like to get american, French, and Brazillian traffic to his site, but to be honest, I don't know where to start. Is there a way to get country specific traffic to a site and what ways might I accomplish this?

A good start would be to make sure your web server is outputting the correct
Content-Language
headers for America, France and Brazil.

If your running Apache then [httpd.apache.org...] will enlighten you.

This should help the sites get picked up by regional search engines.
