Hello,

I am looking for a hosting company that will let me use Apache mod_perl, with the actual aim of using AxKit. AxKit is an XML application server.

I haven't found any, but I am not the best searcher around. And if there aren't any, why?

Thanks, I'm new, I've really enjoyed reading the postings on this site.

Welcome to the forums, woznotwoz (heh - sounds vaguely familar)
This search [google.com] should give you quite a few options.

Most of the "serious" web hosts support PERL. Maybe not the $7.99 a month variety, but the ones who provide site-unique IP addresses, redundant network connections, fire systems, back-up power and real 24/7 tech support...

There has been a lot of discussion of "best hosting company/companies" here at WebmasterWorld - try a site search on that and related phrases and you may find some good recommendations.

I think the way mod_perl works (loading all your scripts into memory that is shared) almost demands that it not be a virtual host server, but a dedicated one. This will increase the price, but also your speed.

I have a colo server with mod_perl, and that works great for me. If you can find a good local ISP and you have a spare compouter laying arpound, this might be an option to consider!
