There have been posts up that suggests some techniques to ranking good on google. For example:
[webmasterworld.com...]
However, I've read the post on "Successful Site in 12 Months with Google Alone":
[webmasterworld.com...]
What I'm confused about is that I'm getting the impression that keywords are most important from the first post. Also, it seems like you can instantly get ranked pretty well according to the 1st post. However, on the 2nd post, it seems to suggest that there is a long term commitment to ranking high and not just by changing a few keywords. Seems like you need to create good content with good inbound links daily (for a whole year!) to finally be ranked pretty well.
I've seen some websites that only have a search term only displayed maybe once or twice throughout their website and still they rank #1. I'm assuming that it took them awhile to get to this rank and doesn't have much to do with keywords. For example, do a search on 'adult dvd'. There you'll find adult dvd explorer as #1 or #2. If you look into that site, they don't even have a META keyword for that search term and they only have that keyword once in their entire page. So I'm really confused on what I should do now. Please help.
