I am currently using the free 6-day trial of WebStat and find it user friendly and very informative. Can anyone recommend another website statistic analyzer service that they've had a good experience with? Any experience with Webalizer, Analog, FastStats, Weblog? I'd appreciate any input--good or bad. Thanks.

WEBTRENDS 7
I found WebTrends 7 to be decent all around, a bit buggy at times, but on the whole good at producing detailed reports. Been running reports with it for quite some time - just make sure you have the system specs it demands if you will be running large logs through it.

WEBTRENDS 8
I recently finished writing a review on the new WebTrends 8 and its basically bloatware. It's their attempt at a browser based interface that gobbles up 1GB ram, 1GB hdd and 1GHz processor - for log analysis! Which basically says it needs its own box to run properly without bringing your sites to a grinding halt. And after all of that its html based configuration console is really amature and requires a lot of patience to set up everything how you want it.

DEEP METRIX
Have a look at deepmetrix.com, very cool stuff. Stores stats in SQL for fast retrival in subsequent report compilation; has great interface and system requirements , price etc. aren't too bad.

123 LOGANALYZER
Also have a look at 123loganalyzer.com, looks like a cut down version of WebTrends, including a happily cut down license cost and system requirements.

had bad experiences with deepmetrix (livestats)

Webalyser is only any good if you have an Apache server (Windows servers can't do Apache logs properly and you won't get the referers)

Thought Webtrends was outrageously expensive for what it is.

Sorry no good reports!

webalizer is free & produces good reports. i use it for all my tracking needs.

apache is the most popular webserver around, so finding a host that runs it shouldnt be a problem.

I have always been a big WebTrends fan. Although, to echo visca somewhat, I am not at all impressed with the latest version.

I MUCH preferred the old standalone product, not this new adventure into a browser based system. It is system intensive (visca's right - needs it's own box) and is just difficult to use.

If you can (and I'm not sure if this is possible), try and get your hands on an old copy of it. It always worked a treat and I really, really liked it as a reporting and analysis tool.

My €0.02!

I am presenly using Awstats as my host is Linux.
Also, the logs are detailed yet it needs some more tweaking.

I am going to try DeepMetrics, but I think it wont run on Linux.
