Im real new to design and I have always been really curious as to how this is done. Adding a Search Engin to your site so you can have users search your content. Im not interested in allow them to search through serach engines, just the contect of my site. Any guidence on this would be great.... Sorry if I posted this in the wrong spot. Thanks in advance.

For sites of fewer than 500 pages, Atomz has a free hosted crawl & search feature. Unfortunately, if you need to go beyond 500 pages they get a bit pricey.

Hi Stidd, welcome to the forums:

There are two ways to go about adding site search to your website:

1. Remotely hosted - there are several decent free and paid services out there if you do not have access to cgi.

2. Run your own cgi script - go to a cgi directory and you should be able to find a bunch of scripts available, if your host gives you access to cgi.

Hola Stidd,
Welcome to WebmasterWorld.

I use a free script called DGS Search for many of my on-site SEs. Customizable and fast.

I use Picosearch - easy to set up and great statistics.
