Does anyone know of any good fairly inexpensive client area software for web development companies? For example one where you can upload approvals etc?

Depending on your preffered scripting langauge, take a look around hotscripts.com, cgi-resources.com or sourceforge.net. This is likel to be where you can find the most inexpensive or free systems.
Or else there is the tutorial sections of these sites ;)
