Welcome [webmasterworld.com] to WebmasterWorld, F8lsin!

This seems to be an IE Page Transition [google.com] effect.

These work in IE (v5 and above only I think) browsers and are not part of the HTML/XHTML standard.

If it's not hard enought, I would like to ask, how to make link to look like in that page... [mcsky.net...]
is it possible with CSS?
or maybe it's just javascript?

This is done using JavaScript, by altering the hex value of the link colour stepwise from black to white. It works fine in IE, but not at all in Mozilla!

CSS at the moment won't allow you to do something like this, but a workaround (if you really want to recreate the effect) would be to use 2 images, the rollover one being an animated gif with the fade effect. This does, however, increase the load time on your page!

Thanx again!
My native language is not English, but I think what this forum is really good...:)

How is your opinion about these effects?
Should I put them on my web or not?

Personally, I am not a fan of these effects at all - be it the page transition or fade out link hovers. In my opinion, they add little to the content or aesthetic of a page and, indeed, detract from the content. It's a simple trap to fall into as a webmaster - trying to show how much you can do technically on one page.

The trick is simplicity! The more simple a page is look and feel wise, the more useable it is. Users can be distracted by flashy effects used where they are not needed.

These are, of course, just my humble opinions!
