Sorry if this is a bad/dumb etc qeustion but here goes:
I am a college student, currently a computer engineering major and I pay my own tuition/living etc and so I am broke, being broke gives me a lot of free time and I would love to make some $$ during that time.
I have been designing web sites for around 3 years for different companies.
My question is: Can you still make a good amount of money selling things on the internet?
If so what have you all found to sell?
How many hours per week am I looking at spending etc.
Is there a guide out there for people like me...and if not would anyone be interested in writing one?
Help a poor college student out! :)
Thanks,
Kevin Abbink
It's all here, dude.
For starters, site search [webmasterworld.com] to help find stuff, as you will need to dig through lots of the old threads to get an idea of the more than 3 years of knowledge piled here by tons of people that 100% know exactly what they are doing when it comes to business on the web.
*Tip on the site search, to use it on a specific forum,
type what you are searching for and forum/# where #
is the number of the forum you want to search in.
Another good reference as you start your journey to internet $$$, is the glossary of promotion terms [webmasterworld.com] so you get can get a quick & dirty overview of some of the terms you might not know like SERP = search engines results page.
After all that, since you are already into design you might find the HTML & Browsers forums fun, or the 'new' CSS forum.
Thinking about the money side now, consider Advertising & Affiliate marketing forum [webmasterworld.com] as your new hang out, along with Search Engine promotion forum [webmasterworld.com] as those will give you these tools:
Welcome to WebmasterWorld i'm sure somebody said it already nice to have you hear. :)
Thanks for the great welcome and encouraging words!
I will check out the Affiliate marketing forum and like you said hang out over there for awhile.
I also am still wondering if anyone has sold their own services with success...by service I mean an original service they developed using the internet.
I dont know exactly what I am looking for....just an Idea I guess....or a good partner to help me out!
Anyhow...you gave me a great starting place...thanks a lot!
