Problems with 1 domain hosted on 2 differnet hosts for backup?

I am thinking of hosting a backup copy of my sites on a differnt host then my present one to avoid webhost's downtime. I will put NS1 & NS2 for my domains on one server and NS3 & NS4 on the other server. The idea is that when server with NS1 and NS2 is down the visitors are redirected to NS3 and NS4.

I am thinking of doing this because every webhost offering shared hosting has some downtime every month.

But the only problem that I can foresee is that some time googlebot and other search engine bots may be directed to my backup server/host which will obviously have a differnt IP as compared to primary server's IP.

My question is will it affect the ability of search engine bots (particularly googlebot) to find and index my sites or my my raning in any way?

Find and idex? No problem.

Hurt Ranking? Perhaps.

I suggest going with a reputable host. The extra 5-10 bucks a month does wonders for a person's sleep routine...

Thanks ScottM

I have used many hosts including some of the best known and costliest ones in last 6-8 months and have seen downtime with all of them one time or another. That is why I was thinking of this as a possible solution. I am already using 2 hosting companies for sites that rely only on PPC traffic.
