Yes I know it is considered by many to be an inferior web editor, but I rather like it's simplicity and, for the most part, it does what I need.

Anyway, I was wondering how many people out there use it, and if anyone has discovered a method of including sound in the FP link buttons. It's easy enough to create a link and include sound in it, but is there a way of using the automatic navigation structure provided by FP and including sound in the navigation buttons?

Thanks
Ian

Yes I use Front Page too.......but I don't think there's a way to make the nav buttons have sound - not even a HTML edit:S

Much as I now dislike FP I have to confess that I learnt a lot from it (quite a lot was how not to do things). You can do what you are looking to to.

Right click on the button you want to add the sound to (in Page View) then click Hover Button Properties (something like that, it might be button properties), then click custom. You then should be able to associate a sound with on click or on hover. I can't remember exactly what the limitations are but I think you can only use .au sound files, not .midi or .wav but I'm not sure about that.

Hey Paul from South Africa, I'm also a South African (in NYC) :)

Thanks for the tip. I have messed with that and it works well, but then you have to do all the work yourself when adding and changing pages ... etc. You can't take advantage of FP's automatic navigation structure, which is pretty cool and helps save on maintenance time.

What editor do you suggest? I like the ease of FP, but wouldn't mind looking into other editors if they are reasonably priced.

Cheers

I'm not sure why you want to be in NYC when South Africa is a great place to be (maybe I should save that discussion for Foo).

Seriously it's been a long time since I used FP but when I did I normally created the site navigation as a separate file and then included it where necessary into the pages on the site. That way you only need to make one change to your navigation file and then the rest of the site will update automatically.

Feel free to sticky me and I will try to dig out some examples for you if you want.

Cheers
Paul
