Hi all EXCELLANT SITE!

A few questions, any help would be Greatly appreciated!

I have read alot over here, and at bruce clays (search engine optimization page). I have optimized my home page heavily ect....... Still not ranking at all, like 110 or so on most engines on my key keyword, this is bad.

I have a dynamic site, so I made static pages to my different brands, I have tried many ways to have the links on my front page, but not 1 ,search engine has indexed them, at all.

Google came out to my site when it wasnt really a site, just a couple demo pictures, ranked it a pr4, and hasnt been back since.(2-3months ago)

Since google was out Ive added some 20 or so static pages, and aquired alot of links to me. I screwed up and resubmitted to DMOZ, so now I have another 2-6 months to wait to get listed there, I have paid, yahoo, inkomi, fast and they come by, but dont index my pages.

Bottom line, My site is easy to use, it is far better (price wise and user navigational wise) then any other site I compete with. I use large pictures at some file size, so my customers can get the best view of what they are buying(its a looks product). Its really a great site, for users, all that have found it really enjoy it, especially after they have been to ALL the others. For my field its a top site, if not the very best.

I dont know what to do anymore, except ask for help. Ive optimized Heavilly, I have made staic pages, that should get indexed but are not, and if they get indexed they should rate #1 in that area. I have a Clean site, no bs, no spam, no cloaking no nothing.

Thankyou for any imput, I would really really appreciate it. This is my first site, and I have worked extremely hard on it, and getting the content in ect, I just cant rank. Or get indexed at all.

luck of the draw sometimes, but you would need to increase your pagerank, you may be at position 110 becuase all the other sites have a higher pr!, even though you see many sites with a low pr beating higher pr sites don't take it as a rule and that your site must follow suit.
Try and get text link's back to you with your keyword in it, and try and get the links from sites with a higher pr.
If someone is linked to you who is in the index then you will get crawled, you could submit your url too, wouldnt hurt. While you're waiting for dmoz carry on with your link campaign and adding more content! :)

Hi:

I agree- get some links back to you. I think getting in good with a SE (like the big G) is a long-term project.... not something you can hope to master in 2-3 months. I beleive the FAQ posted elsewhere on this site talks about a YEAR long process. With back links, it takes a while- a month to get them, a month for G to notice them, and another month for it to have an impact.

I also had a comment... take this for what it's worth, never having seen your site...

>>> I use large pictures at some file size, so my customers can get the best view of what they are buying

You MIGHT consider having smaller pictures on your pages that LINK to larger ones... maybe even a "Link To Larger Picture" text link beneath them. (Obviously, depending on how large is large). I, too, have a site of a very visual product. I keep the pictures OUT until a user actually goes to see one SPECIFIC product, and then use a large image. Some of my competition use 100's of images per page- I even saw one that put over 100 in a scrolling sidebar! I, of course, waitied for them all to come in, so I could see what they were doing. But my wife (who does not study these things like we do.... so I appreciate her comments as a disinterested third party) said it was all too confusing- too much thrown at her. Plus, there is the D/L time concern.

Anyway, hope this helps!

Thank you all for your comments!

leoo24 - most sites have a Pr-4 or Pr3 or PR2, thus the same or Lower then mine. Most sites have not been optimized, if you look at my competition you would laugh, because they dont know what SEO means, their sites are all messed up.I have been trying to get links, and have been clever in doing so, one neat thing, if you go to a Messege board for your product, typically these have a pr 5-6-7 ,you dont have to spam them you can simply ask a question about a product, and post your link. And Walah, you now have a text link to your site. This method works.

carfac - That was a typo, suppose to say Small not some. My site is Dynamic, and its nice the way it displays my product. They can select a manufacturer, and 20 Thumbnails 75 pixels will come up, in a roster list, then they can click through to the bigger pic which is usually 350x350 pixels, at 20-25k. I have made my site very 56k user friendly, even though its a product that requires alot of graphics.

I put in Forums that relate to my website, I dont go after links that dont relate at all. I found this method, from checking back links of other websites that are doing good in my category.

I was really wondering if someone with some website experience could view my source, and say Ah Ha, you have a problem with this, or that ect....
Like for instance it said "<META NAME="revisit-after" CONTENT="10 days">, we changed that to 5 days, but what does this mean, because I see the spiders coming by, but they are not indexing my fresh static pages. Does it mean that after 10 days, they will? and from now on since I have changed it they will after 5 days? These are the unknowing things to me , how they read this info and what to expect.

Im thinking once they find my static pages I would rank better aswell, I mean right now all they think is I have 1 page, and thats it. Where infact now I have 25 pages, all related to my topic, with lots of content, I also have another 600 pages in Dynamic content, inwhich they will never find, but I can live with that, because it would be way to hard to make the 600 static pages,in addittion im using an engine, and the complexity of changing things so that the search engine will index them is far to great, in addittion ther are some 100+ other sites running off the engine/servers and the guy has allready changed plenty of things for me.
