Checking virus scan operation in email client

How can I tell if my anti-virus program is actually scanning attachments?

Right now I'm evaluating PocoMail, and I'm wondering how I can tell if the Norton Anti-Virus path I provided for it is actually causing NAV to scan attachments as I download them?

If I were absolutely sure files are being scanned, it would save me the extra step of scanning the attachments individually before I open them.

Found this document [service1.symantec.com] in the kb over at Symantec. I couldn't find anything that says how you can tell but since they don't list PocoMail in the list it might be worth a quick email to them to ask. Who knows? they might add Poco to the list - would be a good shot in the arm the Poco developers. It's a great product from what I hear.
