Fax Over Ip?

I am looking for a fax software program that will work with a cable modem. The software I have seen needs a fax/modem.

Any ideas?

Fax as a technology requires a standard telephone line, and a receiving fax device to answer and receive.

Cable Modems work completely differently to a telephone line - they are "always on" and cannot communicate on a normal telephone system.

In short, the only fax software you'll find is one which needs a standard fax/modem device, operating over the telephone line.

If you really want to send things via your cable modem - convert your document into an image or text document and email it....
