But let's say you want to remain anonymous but also want to give people the opportunity to send you their resumes by email and snail mail.
Obviously an email address gives the game a way for many.
How would you feel then about yahoo.com (freebies) etc email adresses being used in this way?
I am concerned as they may look unproffessional and long.
Ideas?
Companies do it all the time, every day. They even ask for quotes. Who are they? Should I talk about my recent work and disclose my rates to an anonymous schmuck with a hotmail account?
Hundreds apparently do. I don't.
My position is show me yours and I'll show you mine.
After looking and thinking about using a yahoo or such I think it would look bad, simply because most short words alone are taken etc etc.
Edit for misunderstanding
So do you think that would be better? Or is it just the same as a freebie email?
After all the company remains anonymous with just the address anyway.
My policy is to ask them to call me for rates. Or else request more details for an accurate quote.
Another bad thing about the Y and Hotmail accounts is that their mailboxes fill up. There's that much competition.
One knucklehead sent an email thanking folks for their proposals, and there were almost 100 web designers on the CC!
Bottom line: There is so much desperation for work, many many designers will tell you their deepest most confidential business secrets. They don't care if you have a Yahoo or Hotmail account.
