Forum Moderators: phranque
I need something that is totally off site - that is, they do they're own spidering and indexing etc., all I do is put up a form which goes to them.
Google's is definetly out, they'll show my competitors ads!
There are other ones, I guess fusionbot.com looks good . They have ads, but I don't think they are targeted to the keyword, so they won't be for my competitors. What's more, they integrate the results to my site's template, keeping the visitor feeling like he's on the site.
But I'm wondering if anyone knows of any better one, or any one without ads totally.
Again: 2 requirements: free and totally off site based.

Nothing is for free.
That said, there are some open source solutions but YOU have to host it. Some are mysql database driven, some are not. The only thing they ask is that you display a discrete "powered by" link at the bottom.
If that is too much skin off your b-tt to deal with, many of these developers will take $40 or so dollars for a registration key for removing the link.
Free software is cool. But free hosting- you'll have to display ads.
And many of those solutions can be messy and lower the professionalism of your site. Unless you're doing a hobby site.

Note: Dropping url's in these forums are frowned upon.
Just replicate their form and add
<input type="hidden" name="domains" value="www.yoursite.com" />
<input type="hidden" name="sitesearch" value="www.yoursite.com" />
or something like that - their site has info at:
