Apple today [1.7.02] released or announced their own web browser titled Safari. 'The Safari Public Beta works on all Macintosh computers running Mac OS X v10.2 or later, but runs best when using Mac OS X v10.2.3.'

Apple's Safari [apple.com]

Heres some questions, will Apple release this for other platforms since there is open source involved. Their claims are that it zips past Internet Explorer. Some of the features include:

- Google Integration
- Snapback
- No Popups
- Precision layout

Webmasters should test their sites in this since it will come with Macintosh computers to make sure their precision layout fits comforably with your site. The google integration looks great. Im about to download and install :D Next they need the Google Toolbar for it :D

There is a thread about it in the MAC section.

Does that mean I have to upgrade my iMac to osX in order to test it? That's a big expense I don't really need to make.

I would imagine so. Apple wants money, who doesn't. They are even charging for some of the iApps now. They started charging for .mac email addresses. They are looking for new revenue streams to keep Wall Street happy or at least not mad.

OS X is great, but 10.2 I'm not sure it was worth the cost initially, but as more software comes out that only works in 10.2 you're going to need it. Even Zeldman is switching to OS X.

Perhaps I should have posted in the other thread...
