Had this idea on the bus this morning. I'd love to hear your views.

Take an online business who get a high proportion of their leads/sales through the freephone numbers listed on their site.

What if they had a small form that said "Save paper - Enter your number here and our business card will be sent direct to your phone"?

Anyone ever done/seen something like this before?

Would it be hard to do?

Most, importantly, would you USE it, if you were a visitor?

Personally - I hate navigating through my phone to read SMS messages (my phone's really small). That said - if it's opt-in and one time only it might work.

I think we're gonna start seeing SMS spam soon so I don't think we're too far away from SMS being treated/thought of almost exactly like email. The only difference is that most cell plans only include a certain amount of free SMS every month after that they charge something like 10cents a message - all of a sudden it's costing the receiver something that is measurable.
