My site is a small-scale search engine so at the top there is a search box with check boxes for "web", "directory", "stocks" etc. Each of the words is also a link to the specific section. For example if someone click on directory they are taken to my directory homepage on the other hand if one is checked (On any page) that's where the search will be carried out. What I have in mind is to add "domains" to this list and have the word domains link to their site and if they check the box have their search query the other sites domain search function. As a result of this their link will appear on every page on my site. The link will not be returned so it is not interlinking the two sites. Do you see any potential problems with this set-up?
They have also asked about what price I would charge. I have never sold any advertising before. MY site is a PR6 and gets quite a lot of traffic. From what I can gather they are not looking to gain PR but to get direct traffic. Any ideas on a monthly price for this?
As for how much to charge.
I would try to figure out how much it is worth to you and them. A link on every page should cost them a good dime and they approached you so I can only assume they see value in it.
Your call but it should be worth your while (expensive).

Hit em high and see if they balk. If they say yes right away it wasn't high enough. ;)
I think a monthly fee would be a reasonable way to go about it. but having never sold ad space directly before it's a new ball game to me.
>>a link on every page is somewhat unreasonable
total agreement here. That's why if that is really what they want they can pay through the nose for it.
Ask them what it's worth and then triple it, I play dirty though.
"We thought x$"
"Really, I was thinking more of 3x$" :)
they offering a % on signups or anything or just straight cash?
