He writes mainly from a techie point of view. He makes reference to issues of business ethics but doesn't explore that aspect in much depth. In particular, he didn't mention the area that is of prime interest to me: the ethical considerations that arise when these crudware programs sign up in affiliate programs, then poach traffic from other affiliates of the same merchant. The issues can get reeeeally interesting when the merchants condone this ... Yech.
Highly recommended reading for anyone who uses a computer.
Article is very long with more detail than I need, but it made me install Ad-aware and run it. No need to tell you what it found :(
