generally, I find it pretty hard to get useful feedback from users. To help launch this latest revision, I put in a competion - I hid something in an image on the site which users have to find and click on to send us an email to be entered into our 'free prize draw'. When the email comes up on their side for them to send, theres a short suggestion to provide us with a little feedback on the site.
so far, everyone who's entered has given some feedback, and thankfully its all been good, and response has been great. The most useful ones are where the user has actually made some suggestions on what they'd like to see on the site. Of course the customer database was emailed too.
The good thing is that to enter the competition a user has to potentially browse the site pretty deeply before they find the hidden item and enter.
No doubt this has been done many times before, and I know there are members hereabouts that are much more focused on marketing than me, and better at it too, but I just thought I'd share.
Its a great way to publicise your site, get it browsed, and potentially pick up some new leads.
Did somebody win the "free prize"?
hehe. I doubt if too many people would have entered if they had to pay for the prize when they won :)
I'm going to leave it up for a month or so to see if I get any more entrants after the initial 'stampede'. Well maybe 'gentle stroll' would be more applicable.
- I'm not sure I do get your drift though.....
