Hey guys, do you think it's a good idea to publish an unfinished site ?
I usually wait till the site is completed before moving it to a production box, but this time I did publish it before it's done.

Should I submit it to dmoz, yahoo and such or should I wait till it's finished ?

Thanks.

I think it depends.

If you mean unfinished as in 'all the pages aren't done, but those that I'm putting up are complete and functional', then yes, I do it. Why not get a jump start on some SE listings.

If you mean unfinished as in 'bits and pieces of the pages work, bits and pieces don't - broken links, graphics, etc'. Then no, never.

Well, actually it's a store. Most of the pages are done.
The problem is that products are not sorted out into categories.
There are some categories with 100-150 products and are like 2M of size with all images.
So I'm working on breaking them up into smaller categories.
That's about it.

BCC, No, resist! Once you release pages, poof! They are gone As Is. Somebody captures them and never refreshes them and the next thing you know, your best intentions have yielded your unfinished work.

I have been working on 60 new pages which I am dying to release. I am way big jazzed about the product and I am most definitely like a horse in the gate

And where exactly was my closing thought?

What do you mean "captures them and never refreshes" ?

I still get hits from nasty pages that were convential two years ago. I look at what they were looking at and I just croak.
