Hi All,
I am working on a dating site and came across a site where you can buy a dating script.
i am a complete novice in this field and would greatly appriciate if anyone can simply explain what are these scripts? (i.e dating script or any other script) what are if any advantages in using it rather then building a new site and what are the disadvantages in scripts?

Are you talking about an off the shelf site ready made?
There are a number of advantages and disadvantages of this, one being that they are generally not customisable to any great extent, so you would not be able to think up ideas of how to get people to sign up say, and then incorporate these into your site. Also if you cant put these custom ideas into your site, what is going to set you apart from all the other dating sites?

On the other hand they can offer a very fast solution to what you want, without alot of the headaches and hours of programming.

Not necessarily - some are really well structured and easy to customise.
