I've been passing outlook.pst files back-and-forth from my 2 computers and now I find that I have 3 identical Personal Folders within my Outlook 2003 "All Mail Folders" side panel. I can't find any way to delete the 2 duplicate folders--even tried reloading Office 2003, but that didn't fix the problem. Any solutions out there? Thanks much.

Whenever Outlook 2003 is installed it creates new personal folders. In Outlook 2003 go to Tools->Options->Mail Setup and select "Data Files" button. Make sure that the "Mail Delivery Location" is set (under comments) in the Personal Folders that you want to keep and there is nothing that you want to keep in the other folders you want to remove. Select the personal folders that you don't want and use the "Remove" button.

nanoswarm,

Thanks for your quick reply. I followed your instructions and saw that my Data Files list only 1 of the Personal Folders even though 3 identical folders show on the sidebar column of Outlook. If I were to remove that 1 Personal Folder from my Data File, would that remove all 3 from the screen? (Then all I would need to do is reload it.) Other ideas are welcomed! Thanks again!

I've seem to have exhausted all of my ideas on how to remove the extra Personal Folders displayed in Outlook. I've even removed them per "nanoswarm's" recommendation. Any fresh ideas out there? Thanks much.

You can either try removing it from Data File Management Menu or you can browse your HD in outllook folder and delete the 2 you do not want to keep.

P.S.. Make sure you have back before u delete anything. Who knows when it might come in handy.

Hope this helps.

vishal,

Actually, I've done that--which is the strange thing about this situation. Even when I delete the Personal Folder from Data File option, and then go into: C:\Documents and Settings\[user] \Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook -- and delete the pst file, I still have 2 Persoanl Folders showing on my Outlook mail management panel. Has this ever happened to you before?
Thanks again.
