I have about 60 apache DirectoryIndex pages indexed by google and others. I do not want users to access my files directly, only from the main front page.

I have used a php redirect script showing a error 301 when a user requests an index of a directory by specifying a forward slash (/)

The 301 redirect goes to my main index page.

Is this okay and it will not be seen as duplicate content on my main page?

I did this so I would not lose the traffic that is going to the listed directories.

I have removed any links to the directory roots.
