If I delete AVG to reinstal will the virus be released?

I need to reinstal AVG Free virus checker as it is not working properly.

But what will happen to the 2 viruses I have in its vault? Will they be released onto my computer?

Any advice appreciated

Nope, also I prefer Avast to AVG these days (also free).

Thanks. I'll check it out. Have updated for the moment and realised that from instal you can choose to 'fix' the version you already have.

But will look into that other one also.
