I have been banned from a forum that I didn't do anything wrong in and would like to know how to get a IP scrambler so I may still access this forum as it helps me take care of my pets. So how can I get a Ip scrambler?

I don't think there's anything that "scrambles" your IP, but if you do a search on "anonymous browsing" you can probably find some services or software that rely a different IP than the one you're using.

Well it didn't work, all the sites that came up changed the proxy and it couldn't get past my banning, any other ways to be able to post on this forum and get past it saying that I'm banned?

Use a dialup. Change ISP. Find an anonymous proxy server that hasn't been blacklisted by the forum. Beg and/or grovel. However, before doing all of that, make sure that all cookies from the site have been wiped.

I think that covers all your options.

Kaled.

If you have dialup, you should be getting a new IP address every time you connect. Your ISP has hundreds of IP's, and when someone connects, it assigns an unused one to that person.

Let's back up: How do you know that they're identifying you by your *IP* address?

Kaled's answer was pretty thorough, especially about cookies.

I'm just assuming as thats the only way I can think of how they can ban me, unless they just banned my name or email address, could they have done that?

1.) It can't be fun getting banned but the more you try and sneak back in, the more you show the owner/moderator/webmaster they were right in locking you out in the first place. And the more they'll see what you're doing and keep you locked out.

("Vee haff our vays...")

2.) On private sites, posting is a privilege (so is visiting, actually). So the best way to get back in the site's good graces is directly -- e-mail the moderator (or whomever), and ask them what you need to do to regain their trust, and access.

You'll save time asking, and avoid getting reported to your ISP for attempted interference.

(A typical ISP TOS point: "You may use the Services to link to other networks world-wide, provided that you comply, at all times, with any policies and/or terms and conditions imposed by the operators of such other networks.")

3.) Also, in my experience, it's the rare person who gets banned who hasn't been warned umpteen times beforehand. In case you missed any of those kinds of posted and/or e-mailed warnings, you might also review the site's Terms of Service (TOS) before touching base with them.

4.) Last but not least, there are literally thousands of pet forums out there, on sites and in newsgroups, moderated and unmoderated. You might be happier and get just as much info hanging out somewhere else.

I have found another forum but this one was more active and I got faster responses. Thanks for the tip

I'm just assuming [they banned me by IP] as thats the only way I can think of how they can ban me, unless they just banned my name or email address, could they have done that?

(groan) Yes, banning by name or email address is only about a thousand times more likely. I can't believe you've been trying to register with the same name and email address and wondering why you can't back in.

I have registered with a different name and email address but I have the same IP so thats why I don't regularly post on there, so thats why I was wondering if there was a way to get around that and you don't have to be rude.

Pfui gives the best advice. Send an e-mail asking to be let back in. Trying to force your way back in against the moderators' wishes is only going to piss them off more. I'm surprised that other people on this forum are giving you tips on how to do that.
