Was told to bring forth my discussion here. So I pasted the discussion here.

You'd want to follow the google heatmap to figure out where to post ads.

Looking at your site:

The ads in the right hand column are wasted. Not sure anyone would notice them.

At the top, I would suggest a 468 x 60 banner. Same thing at the bottom of the page.

I'd also try switching the position of what you have as Advertisement and Sponsors.

Is it imporant to have Register Today so high up on the page? Do you get a lot of folks registering? For me, it is not too important, so I replaced it with a simple link to the page.

I created my own template because I think the core templates waste a lot of valuable real estate. For example, the area below your search box. I'd rather have adlinks in there.

by 468X60, you mean at the top but are they embedded with the text? What is wrong with the 300x250 then?

yeah my CTR is way less than 10%. very bad actually. Hmm, so you are suggesting I put AS on the left hand side instead?

fi5hbone -

You're using one of the two templates that come with Joomla and I don't find those templates very friendly when it comes to Adsense.

I say this because those template tend to show off the features of Joomla, but are not always required for many sites. Case in point, the "News" box in the upper right hand corner.

One of the nice things about Joomla is that creating a template is so easy to do, especially if you have a tool like Dreamweaver available to you. There are a number of tutorials on creating a Joomla templates.

I also do not care for the mainpagelogo file. This picture is way to large and consumes too much valuable real estate above the fold.

Finally, when I suggested that you post here concerning Joomla, I was referring to general pros and cons of the CMS. The way this thread is labeled (Ad placement), I suspect this will die a slow death here.

You're using one of the two templates that come with Joomla...

No, this is not a default Joomla! template.

However, I would point out that you are running the Joomla! CMS system, and your footer is incorrectly displaying copyright as belonging to Miro/Mambo. This is in breach of the Joomla! licence agreement.

Just to make it clear, Joomla! and Mambo are two totally separate entities. Joomla's parent organisation is Open Source Matters Inc, and Mambo's is Miro, now a de-registered company.

As far as your ads are concerned, it could be because the site is a little short on content that it's displaying irrelevant ads. I'm also seeing PSAs due to stop words.
