Hi

I have just had a new website created in asp but I want to keep the old domain name, apart from the home page all the urls have changed. Do I need to do a 301 redirect? What I am trying to do is avoid google’s aging delay as the new web pages are new.

Can anyone advise me

As far as I know the best thing to do is to 301 each old page to each corresponding new page.

Yes i will advice the same thing, do 301 redirect for all the pages to maintain your PR and backlinks. I just redesigned my whole website structure and by doing 301 redirect my site had maintained the same position in all three SE's.

When I checked a few weeks ago most of the links were to the home page. Would I need to do a 301 for the home page or just to the pages that have back links pointing to them?

If you want to maintain your website's PageRank and avoid duplicate penalty (http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum5/7649.htm #9) then you should 301 redirect all the maximum possible pages plus your homepage.
