Who is "Red Hat modified"

My log file says I receive visits from Red Hat

Hi everybody,
Reading my log file I see I receive every day a big number of visits from "someone" called "Wget/1.10.2 (Red Hat modified)"
Who or what is "Red Hat"?
Why does he visits me many times EVERY day?

Looks to me like someone grabbing your pages using WGET which is a command line Linux file retreiver. Red Hat is just an operating system.

Could be an experimental search engine or a scraper (or even a proxy).

Can you ban the IP? Where are the IP's from?

No - we need to not get into specifics here.

There are several IP lookup databases available online - a quick search should reveal.

That will tell you where it's coming from, but I would still block that IP.
