Monetizing unused bandwith

I currently have some excess bandwith available. I've been thinking about mirroring content and adding advertisements to the pages in order to earn a bit of money. Has anyone here done something similar, or is this a bad idea? Could you point me to websites that would be interested in such a deal?
Alternatively, I figure I could also use some content in the public domain to achieve the same effect, but of course I'd have to attract traffic in some other way. Any suggestions?
Additionally, could you give me any indication how many dollars I'd make per GB?

Thanks in advance for your responses!

a.k.a. "Scraping" ;-)

Would this be copyrighted content? If so, get ready to receive a DMCA cease-and-desist letter...

In case it is not clear: I intend to do this with full permission from the owner and was wondering if such opportunities were available at all.

OK - glad to hear it :-)

If the content is already available elsewhere, and is indexed and ranked, you are likely to experience duplicate content filtering.

Unless you get so many inbound links that Google thinks YOU are the original, and the "original original" site will get booted from the results. This could be good from your PoV, but the original owner may not like it!
