Hey people,

Is there a way to limit broadband speed to 56k, so I can check how fast some websites are at loading?

Or, does anyone know of an online tool that can check loading times for average 56k.

Thanks in advance

just google for "website optimization" and you'll find a nice tool to check the size of your pages and average download time for different connections.

I remember a long time ago I had this program that accted like a proxy and it throttled the speed to the 56K connection. I wish I could find it now.

It's not the same to look at stats and to actually experience it yourself. When you experience the 1000kb flash movie loading for half an hour, then you'll be more eager to fix it :)

Cheers JoaoJose, I found two speed checkers

websiteoptimization.com - Tried this one first, but it takes into account 'alternate stylesheets & their graphics', so is unaccurate figure

1-hit.com - This is a decent one

Sounds like a cool program Moltar, and I agree that to endure it yourself is more motivating

Thanks for the replies
