Does anyone know of a CMS with all the features of Digg?

As far as I know, nothing out-of-the-box as yet.

There are some Drupal sites that have been customised to resemble Digg, and there is talk - though nothing yet concrete - of a Digg-style "module" for Drupal. Have a search through Drupal's forums for more info, or have a look at SpinSpy for an example.

MetaPhilter, a clone of the software that powers MetaFilter, allows user link submission/commenting but doesn't yet have the rating systems (but is undergoing a re-write at the moment, so you never know :) )

I would love to hear anything like this as well.

What are some other sites that do the same thing as Digg?

If we are all wanting software to copy Digg, then i suspect its not worth looking for it. Digg clones are not the next big thing. There is already one out there that is just mediocre.

From pligg.com:

What is Pligg?. Pligg is Web 2.0 Content Management System (CMS) unlike any other existing CMS. Pligg's Web 2.0 user interface gives your visitors a reason to come back to your site by making them decide on the site's content and giving them the chance to social network. By giving users the ability to collaboratively submit and dismiss articles, you are offering an experience that users are happy to take part in on a daily basis.

Does Pligg cost anything? Nope, Pligg is completely free. Not only is it free, but it is licensed under the Affero General Public License. This pretty much gives you total freedom to do whatever you want with the software. Please read the license for more details.

netchicken, nobody's talking about copying Digg. Software like that could be used for a number of different types of sites. It's sort of saying, "why look for forum software? It's already been done - forums are not the next big thing."

Appropriately called diggClone for those interested.

Obviously without giving specifics, could we maybe brainstorm some ideas for using this type of CMS?

- it could be used in the same way as digg, just for regional news.

- like digg, but for a specific niche.

- reviewing things? People write reviews and then everyone else votes on how useful/relevant the review was.
