How would you market your new product?

Hello,

I've just launched my new project - a Website promotion tool for Webmasters. I'm trying to gain new subscribers, but it's not easy. Would you guys mind sharing with me, how do you market your Websites? As I mentioned, this is a product for Website owners. How to get to this group most effectively and at the lowest cost possible - my budget is limited and adwords, overture etc. campaigns do not come in play at the moment.

Things that come to my mind now:
1.backlinks, link partners (takes time and not always effective)
2.email contact with Webmasters (too much to do)
3...

Any other ideas? Thanks for any tips.

If it's a good tool, then all you need is that innitial boost. However, if it's a tool which is available in many other places, then you do need a great deal of advertisement.

-Focus in free forms of advertisement first (trade links, directories, submit articles...)
-If it's not working, try paid sources, but do it the smart way.
