Is there a way to check in which position (3rd page or 20th page) is a particular domain for a particular keyword?

I found some stuff but not for Google, Yahoo and MSN togther.

Any help appreciated.

Regards.

There are some tools available who do this, but not exclusively but as part of other tasks. I personally use WebCEO - any other tool will do as well.

However, please be aware of two things:

1) Automatic queries violate the terms of service (TOS) of all major search engines. You use these tools at your own risk! At least Google has provided an API where you can make a number of automated calls per day - most of the tools support this.

2) There is no sucht things as "absolute position". Site's positions are in constant flux, and the results you get depend on factors like your geographical position and even the browser you use. Somtimes, issuing the same query again might result in slightly different results (like two sites swapping places).

The only reliable way to track what position sites have at a given point in time is to make the query yourself and track them with a spreadsheet. This works quite well for a small number of sites.

Mikes Marketing Tools has an online page ranking tool which will do most of what you want, but only returns the top 50 for each searched keyword.

Why is it against TOS to check your page rank automatically? Gosh, do they realize how long it would take for someone to find their rank (if there is even a rank) if they are just starting out?

Wow, you learn something new everyday. Especially on this forum.

Search for Digitalpoint, this website allows you to set as many keywords as you want and get your position both for Google and Yahoo.
But you'll need your Google API I think to register..

Ask them! I guess they are more afraid of huge automated requests in contrast to a few checks. But they made the TOS and it's your decision to either play along, willingly violate the rules or don't play at all.

How true, now that my pages are in the top 20 I seem to rely on DP's tool more for checking but yesterday it showed I fell off the web for a keyphrase that had #2 position for the last few years, when I manually checked the site was there in the #2 position. The best tool is you. When checking a new site I set the preferences to 50 if the site does not appear in the first 50 results well I know it's going to need a heck of a lot of work. Baciscally if your not on the first couple of pages you might as will not go searching to page 20 and proceed with a plan to make it into the top 2 or 3 pages.

(It's an example, number are imaginary)
UK - goog.....................
(I tried a lot, but everytime I get global share of search engines, but not country specific)
This is an assignment given by out teamleader to all of my team-mates
Please Help at the earliest -

Those numbers are individual for each site. I have different percentages for different sites which reside on the same server!
