Does anyone know if google is planning on having their own web hosting plan. For as big as they are i'm sure they could probably offer some great deals. Anyone know of anything?

Wouldn't there be a conflict of interest involved? At any rate, I haven't heard anything on any plans.

It is certain to happen at some stage. However, my guess would be that they'd go for big business accounts rather than get into the $10 per month market.

Having said that, I would not be greatly surprised if they got into the free hosting (with adverts) too.

Don't expect any warning. One thing is certain, if Google are planning to get into hosting, they'll want to keep it top secret until they're ready to go. Also, they'd probably start by buying up one or two medium-sized hosting companies rather than start from scratch.

I would definitly expect it! Let's not forget that they became a registrar awhile back.

Yeah...both Amazon and Google became registrars some time ago, but neither is offering web-hosting packages right now.

I think Google will eventually start in the web-hosting business, maybe offering website templates that incorporate Adsense, map tools, Blogger tools, and other benefits to those who purchase their packages.

I could see a Google-made application, similar to Frontpage, where a person could select options (ie. Create/Load A Sitemap; Create 300x250 Adsense Ad; etc.) before uploading their webpages to a server.
