Website A is around 2 months old and getting 20+ visitors already while website B is just 1 week old.
How long will it take for them to get traffic like 1000+ unique visitors per day without spending money for advertising?
Is it possible to receive such traffic just by search engine submission?
But more importantly, the more popular your websites are, the more attention they get from other websites (links, banners, etc.)
Getting your name out there (which can be done for free) is probably one of the best SEO steps you can take.
The next best SEO step is keeping your content updated.
If you have a site and don't promote it, it will languish.

A lot of it will depend on topic. I have a travel related site and it took about 2 years to reach that kind of traffic.

Whilst everyone wants, or thinks their site should have, good rankings etc somebody has to be on page ten or indeed page 1000 of the serps
General links tend not to bring much human traffic, good links on good high traffic sites are like gold dust.
There is also the catch-22 that if you do not already rank well then you are unlikely to get these tasty one-way IBLs
Sorry to sound negative, but with 1000s of new sites being launched everyday somebody has to be disappointed
