I am trying to remove my contact info from Alexa. These are the instructions given on the Alexa page :

To update your contact info, you may place an info.txt file containing your contact info in the root of your site for Alexa to fetch.

Right-click this link: info.txt. And save it to your computer.
Copy the info.txt file from your computer to the root of your site.
Verify that the info.txt file is there with your browser. (Go to [yoursite.com...]
Once you have verified that the file is there, tell us to fetch it by clicking this link: Go Fetch

Where exactly do I insert the file? Is root my home page? I have tried opening the file and pasting it onto my page to no avail. I also posted it into the html code, still nothing. I am using FrontPage.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Seems like you just need to upload that text file to root (not insert it anywhere), i.e where your index page is located. So once it is uploaded it can be accesses by going to [yoursite.com...] Also you could change your whois data for that domain as that is where alexa gets that info.

"root" is the top directory or folder of your webspace.

Depending on your hosting webspace, this might be called the /public_html folder

Do not insert the text of info.txt into your index.html page!

You should upload the info.txt as a completely separate file, into your top folder, the same folder where your main index.html page resides.

I am not familiar with how to upload with FrontPage, but you would upload the info.txt file the same way you upload any of your files, like index.html or robots.txt or samplepage.html
.
