once and for all how much matters keywords in the url i mean the "file name" such as "http://www.example.com/keyboards/my_neon_keyboard_dx24/" versus "http://www.example.com/keyboards/34/" or even "http://www.example.com/3/34/"?

i really have wondered i think its over dramatized i just use title and h1 stuff isnt that best?

I doubt if the search engine rating benefit is significant, but at the end of the day, it's just a lot nicer for users!

If a user sees 2 links, and one looks like a load of gibberish and one looks like a nice description of what the link leads to, they are probably (even if only subconsciously) going to click on the descriptive one.

It doesn't hurt to have descriptive URLs, so there's little excuse not to use them when possible - just don't go overboard wuth the keyword stuffing!

hehe well i agree but it can get silly

for example in a forum the title of a thread can change

basically i think its okay to use it for non changing stuff like category titles
