alexn, did you mean web analytics or website uptime monitoring?

In any case nothing is really free so you'll probably have to make that extra effort of hitting the delete key once a week if you don't want to shell out any cash ;)

why free? isn't your uptime worth something to you? Aren't the people who write software entitled to make a living and feed their families too?

I check my site daily by:
- Checking my email.
- Loading the site in my browser.
- And, usually doing at least some basic stuff (click a few links at least).

It is free, and most reliable.

TopSites: I disagree, its not the most reliable at all. If I casually go to my site and see that its working at 10AM, whats to say that from 10:01AM - 2PM when I check again, that it wsn't down? That could be thousands in sales down the drain..

Don't get me wrong, I've never had a situation where it was off 4 hours but I sure as heck want to know right away.

That said, our host has free monitoring of our servers as part of our package. When a server isnt responding, it sends us a text message (email really, but I specify my text message email).

They offer reliable web site monitoring and more than a dozen of plans, including a free trial.

2 Topsites:
You are absolutely wrong. Checking your site doesn't mean that it will be up in two minutes. If you own a e-shop you will suffer great losses whithout even knowing that your server is down!

I think InternerSeer does a fairly good job.also, since you are going for a free one, why not try one by one till you get one that satisfies you. You dont lose anything by the way.
