Hi everyone,

I have set up a email engine to handle my clients optin email campaigns.

What I'd like to know, it how can I get the major networks to know that I am a legitimate source of email and not a spammer when they see volumn coming from one IP address?

Are there contacts at the networks such as AOL that one can inform? And, I am willing to submit my email campaigns to them in advance so they know they are legitemate.

Anybody have any experience on knowledge on this kind of thing?

i don't know the exact answer to your question, but i recently just had an issue with my email bouncing back because it was on some list via my ISP's issues.

I don't know if this will be helpful to you or not, but the admin had to check these urls for blacklist info:

ordb.org and
osirusoft.com
www.selwerd.cx/xbl/

Well I checked them out. Interesting way to check your ISP to be sure they are not open relays, etc.

But I still can't find a way to let anyone at the big networks like AOK, etc. that we are legit. Seems, they'd be interested in that as well.

My understanding is that the ISP's don't care if you are legit or not. They care about how many complaints they have received. The only way to stay "clean" is to (a) ensure your email server is not an open relay, (b) use double opt-in always, and (c) ensure that you agressively handle any remove requests. You will still get reported (it happens) but hopefully if you are ethical you won't get reported so many times as to appear on the radar screen. Also, you want to make sure your emails do not include any spammer tricks. In other words, the remove link should work, the reply address must be valid and all other header data must be correct. Spammers try and hide themselves and so are easy to spot. Their header data is incorrect or does not make sense.
