I would like to learn more about Internet Explorer, Windows Explorer, and Keyboard Functions. Are there courses or books that can help me. I am so tired of calling techical assistance at my Internet Service Provider and the service people their know less than I do, which is very little.

Without knowing the scope of your questions, it's impossible to recommend any books.

If you have some specific questions, post them here and someone will probably answer them. Always endeavour to make questions clear and concise.

Read your help files ..in virtually any windows program they will be found by opening the programme and then hitting the F1 key

I was not specific in my question because each time I have a problem, it is usually different. And each time I ask someone who seems to have a grip on the behind the scenes aspects of Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer, and Keyboard Functions, I am told that they just picked it up over the years and they didn't know of any specific comprehensive courses or books on the subjects.

if you have general problems with any thing core to 'doze ..such as those three apps ( well actually 2 apps and some weirdness )..try looking into annoyances.org( deliberately i unlinked as i don't know if they are on the approved list here ..) ..

lots of info , hacks , and some humour

but remember ..not even billy g understands 'doze ..thats why they keep adding code over what's there with each new OS

Perhaps you just need "Windows for Dummies". There are loads of books that introduce Windows to new users. If you want something more advanced, then there are three inch thick monsters on XP hacking etc. However, if that level was appropriate to you, you wouldn't be here asking the question.

In my experience, most computer-literate people are self-taught. Many will have done degrees or have other training that pointed them in the right direction, but, ultimately, you have to put into practice what you learn and at this point you are teaching yourself.

I have a sister who used to earn ~£50,000 a year contracting as a programmer (now living in Portugal). But, she knows very little about Windows, and what she does know is self-taught, except for having just done a five day course on MS Access.

You probably don't need a book about IE; there are many about Windows. Get the largest in number of pages for the version of windows you have.
