I don't like sounding so helpless, but I have a small problem printing with Firefox. Basically, Firefox does not seem to want to remember the last settings.

I go into Page Setup and set the Scale to 80%, which is what I need to print most of my forms. The next time I open Firefox the Scale is back to the default of 100%. Most of the time I don't realize this until I've printed a form and it's all over the page..

The other print settings seem to be sticky, but not the scale.

Any ideas? I mean this is something I can deal with, but there are others here who cannot figure this out, and they should not have to figure it out. It should just work.

FWIW, Netscape doesn't have this problem. But I'm trying to migrate to a more secure platform.

There is a printing bug in Firefox. Check out bugzilla and look it up.

Thanks

I've been looking around on the Firefox site. It looks like it might be a setting in the toolkit.jar file. I don't think jar files can be edited with a regular text editor... they can be edited, but I don't think it will be executable again.

<add> I found that bug report. Nice to know I'm not alone.. Thanks again</add>

you can always extract the file from the jar, decompile it, fix it, and recompile it.........

Although I thought FF was open source, can't you get all the code for it?

you can always extract the file..

If you know what you're doing. I don't, and there are too many other fires to put right now, so no time to learn about java. I'll just change my default browser back to NS for the time being.
