beginner needs to start somewhere

I have spent at least five days trawling through this site and reading and looking for guidance in where to start with SER. Thanks all it's been an experience and I am much wiser. I found the link to Bobby Davro's site brilliant.

It may be an idea to have a novice's section where people like me can go to understand the basics.
