Hi,

Has anyone heard of Lycos entering the Irish market? I've heard of a couple of people being contacted my Lycos ahead of their launch, trying to sell adwords.

Anyone hear anything?

Cheers!

I wonder if I could sell them some banner advertising. Lycos' brand recognition seems to be very low here in Ireland. (Though the retriever dog image is brilliant for marketing, the marketing of Lycos here has been poor.) The way things are going at the moment, it is either Google or MSN. Even Altavista is not getting much of a look-in these days though I have seen a few more referrals from ie.altavista.com.

I am beginning to get nervous that I am the last Irish search engine operator standing up against the might of Google/MSN/Yahoo. Thank God I don't have to worry about Lycos.ie as well. ;)
