Question for our UK members: has there been any reaction from the man on the street in the UK to BBC's switch to Inktomi? Good or bad? Not talking about SEO's and webmasters here just the average user. It has been a few months, time enough for feedback.
Has the public even noticed?
I cant answer your question, but without turning this into a debate. If we are "Not talking about SEO's and webmasters here" how are we meant to answer. Presumably we are all either SEO's or webmasters here, so how do we know what the public think? Do we have a bias opinion?
Im not trying to be a git, im just interested how do we get joe publics feedback about something over which we have no control. I only want to know as it may prove useful. I mean how can we gauge how this has affected puclic?
Apologies if i seem like a git now, im just curious. :)
Has there been reaction in UK forums? Has BBC said anything one way or another?
Did it come up in Parliment? :)
I figure UK members have a lot better shot at knowing something than me sitting here in the US. ;)
As a result of our ongoing commitment to ensuring the highest levels of quality and value for money for our users, we have recently switched the supplier for our search index, from Google to Inktomi. The consequences of this change are likely to be minor differences in the order in which sites are listed and the descriptions which accompany them.
