Hi Belinda

Welcome to WebmasterWorld

I'm sorry but I've not got a clue what you are asking?

hi all,

I noticed alot of companies in this area moving to offshore status presumably to avoid any legal issues with advertising direct to the public.

Is this a definite close on the subject I wonder...

It's certainly been interesting from where I've been looking.

Don't seem to be any "firm" dates as yet for when all the search engines pull out - presumbaly subject to the results of several current court cases.

Hi Belinda,

We have a number of sites that were providing advertisers with highly focused users and our conversion rates and ROI was excellent for certain brands.

The overall situation seems to be that advertising any of the drug brands, Viagra, Xenical, Propecia, Cialis etc. will be very restricted and may involve a 3-4 day lead time for members of the public.

Apparently one of the ways round it for sites like ours is to offer the reader a chance to find out more about, say, impotence remedies - without mentioning the brand. Then assuming the company is offshore or is going to operate whilst waiting for the definitive ruling.

Sticky me if you are interested in finding out more about the sites and whether or not they could be right for you (lot cheaper than other routes I'm sure).

Cheers

Belinda,

as much as I would like to share information with you, unfortunately I cant.

I am sure you will appreciate that it is a very sensitive issue and legal advice should ALWAYS be taken.

Under NO circumstances are any of us able to advise in this forum the potential legal implications of breaking the rules or about taking operations offshore.

Both could be potential criminal acts, and in your defence, a posting on webmasterworld would NOT be a mitigating factor in front of a judge.

Hi Shak,

Given that very few really know the legal implications, this is probably a wise recourse.

No more 'advice' from my side!

TW ;)

Well, ... actually, and I think that most of my fellow posters will agree, its not so much getting it up as keeping it down thats the problem. Can I suggest some more targeted marketing? You would get better conversion, we would waste less time.
