I am trying to work out what proportion of BBCi visitors use the web search facility. So my question is:

How much traffic do you get from the BBC in comparison to google.co.uk? (that is my benchmark)

Obviously these numbers must be from before the switch to Inktomi (!)

Thanks

Thanks. Interestingly, yours are in roughly the same ratio as tigger's, which is good for my numbers ;-)

word bursts within BBC search logs [currybet.net]

If possible, does anyone have any comparative numbers for Tiscali?

Just to explain why I need these; I am putting together a site listing all of the UK search engines, portals and ISPs. I have 82 listed so far, excluding the PPC companies. I thought that it might be fun to do a search engine "Top of the Pops" table, listing the top 20, although a full table will also be available.

I am using modified Alexa data to give sites a score, based on their reach for searches. It is fairly interesting that although MSN UK has a reach of 5,660/M web users, only 8% of them use the MSN search facility, according to Alexa. At least that is how I interpret it...

Have a "slightly out dated" list 250+ UK SE's and directories, maybe we could hook up.

Sticky me and let me know.

If anyone is interested, the "Top of the Search Engines" charts that I have been working on are finished now. URL in my profile.

They should do the first proper update on Sunday night, and weekly there after.
