Nope. The .com's are not being filtered out. Results seem to be more like Google.com than Google.co.uk IMHO.

<doh!>they've got option to search either "all of the web", "uk only" or "Ireland only"... But the default is all of the web</doh!>

"Ireland only" is still the old Y! results rather than the G "pages from ireland".

Yep - the .coms are being filtered from the 'uk' yahoogle bits.

Baffling - plenty of UK companies with .com domains.

In another thread, in another Forum a member put me right that 'uk sites' are not filtered by their domain only but also by their IP number being of UK origin.

Therefore, .com's hosted in the UK should also appear. Is this the case or not?

I am very confused as to what constitues a 'UK only' filter these days and therefore how a UK company with a .com can appear in UK results without falling foul of a charge of a 'mirror' site!

Will be pretty interesting to see if they come up with a solution for that.
Geotargeting - so far a major weaknes with Google IMO.

Actually looking at the results a bit more closely, the main results are not identical to google.com - more or less the same sites, but slightly different order.

Is not the same as Google.co.uk UK Sites only.

And there are some .co.uk sites (some of my sites anyway) just missing altogether. All very odd at the moment, but remember how wierd it was when aol.co.uk first went google - it took a couple of days for them to sort it out.

I just checked 27 of my UK clients and all with .com's are filtered out. They will probably fix that during the next few days otherwise the results would be meaningless.

yup, .coms are filtered out from the uk only search. i guess the switch to google only results means there isn't really much point in submitting to yahoo any more .... we can get top rankings without the PR boost from yahoo ....

Seems this filtering by domain will be common to the other English language Y!s, Oz and NZ will have a similar problem, as might India and Canada.

Don't hold your breath! AOL UK hasn't done it yet, nor has Freeserve for UK sites on Google results.
